I thought so.

My Tulsi Tea recipe is just what the AyurDoula ordered to soften those edges and make your heart smile. 😊

Mama’s Tulsi Tea Benefits

This simple Tulsi Tea recipe only has 3 ingredients which are delicately fragrant and will give you just the right healing benefits you need after birth.

Tulsi

If you want to bring more balance into your body and mind, taking an adaptogen is a good place to start. An adaptogen is a natural substance that enhances the body’s natural response to physical and emotional stress.

Tulsi, also known as Holy Basil, is a wonderful postpartum adaptogenic herb that can help you cope with stress after birth. It’s benefits include  healing sleep problems, anxiety, exhaustion and forgetfulness. It also is a great support for digestion, as well as cold and flu symptoms.

Rose

Rose has the highest vibration out of all the flowers of the plant kingdom. Many new mamas are in a delicate emotional state after birth, and need good vibes. That being said, rose is a great herb to uplift the spirit, curb depression, as well as open your heart. It is also anti-inflammatory and can help with postpartum pain, as well as boost your immunity from it’s high levels of Vitamin C.

Cardamom

Cardamom is a wonderfully aromatic spice that is related to ginger. It’s my personal favorite! This delicious spice is one of the staples in my postpartum cooking toolbox for its powerful digestive action, as well as its unique flavor. Cardamom is also used in Ayurvedic medicine for it’s anti-depressive qualities, as well as to fight bronchitis, colds and the flu.

So there you have it. Now that you know the awesome benefits you’ll gain from this deliciously fragrant Tulsi Tea – Let’s make it!

Will this tea hinder breast milk supply in any way? Are there any particular herbs that could be added to this tea to boost supply?

No, this tea does not hinder breast milk supply, but promotes it! Basil (tulsi) is a known to increase breast milk supply. If you would like to add more milk producing herbs, try fennel seeds.

Hi there! Thanks for the recipe. 🙂 Could you use an organic rose powder instead of rose petals? And if you are using all powders, is there a need to strain after steeping? Thank you!

Yes, you can use rose powder instead. Not a problem! There is no need to strain if you don’t want to:)
